This month’s Body Pilgrimage theme, Reconnecting to Playfulness, invites us to explore play and playfulness as a tool for creativity, expression and (re)connection to forgotten parts of ourselves. Through guided prompts and individual and group-based movement explorations, participants are encouraged to reconnect with spontaneity and curiosity as a relational bridge between self and others. What happens when we take perfection and performance out of our movement? How does that change our way of being with others and in the world?
The session will begin with a playful warm-up towards the gateway of breath, followed by our movement enquiry informed by our theme of play. We will end with a meditation leading us towards a path into yoga nidrā (yogis sleep) to alchemise our movement exploration.
This session is for all movers from every movement background, age, or ability. No experience of yoga or movement is necessary, just willingness and courage to (re)connect with yourself.
A note on pricing:
To make the workshops financially accessible, I aim to price each session as fairly as possible through a sliding scale framework influenced by Worts and Cunning’s helpful illustrated graph (below). Keeping to mind the precept of asteya (अस्तेय) as found in Sutra 2.30 in Patanjalis’ discourse, I request that you are intentional about your pricing choice. I also understand that some months may differ from others financially.
